- Sandha police raid house, torture family over gangster’s fourteen-year-old son’s personal dispute
Alleged gangster Majeed Kala illegally tortured a family over a personal dispute with the aid of the Sandha police in the area of AkramPark on Wednesday.
According to reports, Kala and the police raided the house of Imtiaz, aged 12, regarding a fight that had occurred between him and Kala’s son Amir, aged 14.
Imtiaz and Amir worked together in the same factory and reportedly fought about Amir’s sister, Kausar, who is pregnant. According to Sub Inspector (SI) Dildar, Imtiaz had insulted Amir by saying Kausar’s child was illegitimate. Imtiaz’s aunt, Irshad Bibi, had apparently also tortured Kausar, badly injuring her and causing her to be taken to the nearest hospital by Rescue 1122.
Dildar, along with other police officials and Amir’s father, Majeed Kala, subsequently entered Imtiaz’s house forcibly and tortured his family members. They reportedly injured Irshad Bibi, and took his sister, Sonia, out from her bath and tortured her naked. When people tried to stop them, the police threatened to kill them, and although Irshad Bibi says she wept and begged, they continued to abuse her and her family.
Meanwhile, Irshad Bibi said, the SI Dildar sat outside the house, saying he was tired and asking to wash his feet.
Irshad Bibi also accused Majeed Kala of being a police informer and a gangster, telling Pakistan Today that all of the people in the area are against him but can not take any action because of his links with the police.
The elderly woman reported that Majeed Kala and the police threatened to file a fake FIR against the family if they tried to contact the media. She added that they were very poor, and could not fight gangsters. She demanded that high officials take notice of the matter.
A local woman by the name of Ayesha Bibi affirmed that the Sandha police had tortured Irshad Bibi and her family without a good reason, and that Majeed Kala is a gangster who committed the violence with the help of the police. She added that Kala worked as a security guard and was involved in illegal activities.
According to her, the police have not filed an FIR against him yet, and if she or others in the area were to file their statements it might involve them in dangerous circumstances. Like Irshad Bibi, she demanded that the government take action against Kala, Dildar, and all the others who illegally raided the family’s house.
Station Head Officer (SHO) Safdar Sajjad told Pakistan Today that he doesn’t know anything about the matter, and that no application has been received against Majeed Kala from Irshad Bibi. He said that he will inquire after the matter from his subordinates and will take action against the accused.
