The Capital Development Authority (CDA), in its ongoing operation against encroachments, demolished 350 stalls set up on green belts in Mandi Morr and other areas of the federal capital and confiscated their goods.
A team led by Deputy Director Enforcement Muhammad Iqbal, along with officials of the environment wing, conducted the operation in Mandi Morr, Jaba Taili, Saidpur and other areas, demolishing more than 350 illegal stalls.
Meanwhile, the stall owners alleged that the CDA officials demolished structures of those who refused to pay extortion money. They said that stalls of those who filled the pockets of CDA officials were still intact. They said they are being deprived of livelihood due to the highhandedness of the CDA officials.
They demanded the higher authorities of the CDA to either demolish all the stalls on green belts of Mandi Morr or rebuild the demolished stalls.
