“My young friends, I look forward to you as the real makers of Pakistan, do not be exploited and do not be misled. Create amongst yourselves complete unity and solidarity. Set an example of what youth can do. Your main occupation should be in fairness to yourself, to your parents, in fairness to the State, to devote your attention to your studies. If you fritter away your energies now, you will always regret.” –Jinnah
It is much vivid from Jinnah’s statement that youth is an essential part of a state. Not only Jinnah, many other Muslim leaders at that time believed that the future of any nation depends on its youth. Allama Muhammad Iqbal is one of the most outstanding poets and philosophers of the subcontinent. His poetry was deeply concerned with youth, he named youth as ‘Shaheen’ in his poetry. He also believed that under the staunch leadership of youth a nation can overcome any kind of difficulty.
Today, Pakistan is going to through a rough patch. Its economy is at the verge of decline and the constant price hike has crushed the poor. Moreover, poverty, illiteracy, corruption, international interference and terrorism have weakened our country to a great extent. This is the right time for the youth to tell the world what they are capable of doing. The youth of Pakistan is very passionate about change.
Youngsters have to fulfil countless responsibilities yet they cannot afford to run away from the issues of Pakistan. They have to stand their ground and overcome all the problems of the state. There are many things which young people can do to make a difference. Young people in political parties should rise up and take the leadership positions as they have fresh and exuberant fervour to run the state and discuss the state affairs. Youth should know their representatives and parliament members and cast their vote for the right reasons. Attending conferences can also help youngster as they will meet different people and share their ideas, they can also write in newspapers. One thing that we all need to consider is patience, acknowledgement and struggle, once things get on to the right track, all the troubles we are facing will surely end.
The youth should educate themselves and be ready to work for their state because they are the nation builders of tomorrow. Pathways will be clearer if we hold a strong united vision of following true democratic values.

  1. With due respect to your thoughts Sir, in the beginning you mentioned a very clear qoute of Jinnah saying that students should be trouthful to themselves their parents and to pay attention to their studies and then in your opinion you seggested to take part in politics, as far my memory is concerned, I remember we have studied in our Pak Affairs that leaders at the time of Jinnah clearly adviced the youth to stay out of politics and pay attention to their studies and other skills.
