Three people, including a religious scholar, were gunned down on Khuda’ay Dad Road in the provincial capital late night between Monday and Tuesday.
Police sources said that Molvi Mohib Ullah, a religious scholar, along with his brother Aman Ullah and a colleague were sitting at a kiosk when unidentified armed men riding motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on them, killing them on the spot and injuring three others.
The rescue teams shifted the dead and injured to the civil hospital.
“The dead received multiple bullet injuries which caused their deaths on the spot while three others also received serious bullet wounds,” doctors said.
Some of the injured were later moved to the Combined Military Hospital due to their critical condition.
The police have registered a case against unidentified assailants and launched an investigation into the incident.
