While the police force has seemingly failed to contain the deteriorating law and order situation in the country’s largest city, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahid Nadeem Baloch, has been making excuses of illness, possibly to avoid appearance before the court.

Sindh Advocate General told the Supreme Court (SC), which was hearing the Karachi Lawlessness Case this morning, that the Sindh IGP was sick.

On hearing this, the judge remarked, “Whenever, we come to Karachi, the IGP gets sick”.

“Have you done something about Lyari?” asked Justice Amir Hani Muslim while hearing the case in Karachi registry of the SC, as the police officials tightly closed their lips to avoid making any statement.

The judge also got furious over the careless attitude of DG Sindh Rangers who submitted a report about the Lyari gang war.

The court further ordered the authorities concerned to take indiscriminate action against the armed wings of political parties in the metropolis.
