The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed the Secretary Establishment Division to assign a post within two days to Gul Khan, a BSP-20 officer.
A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddiqui resumed hearing of a plea filed by Gul Khan, officer on special duty (OSD) for seeking appointment.
During the course of hearing, Mian Abdul Rauf apprised the bench that his client has not been assigned any official duty for the last three years. He argued that the petitioner’s placement as OSD and non-assignment of duty is illegal and in violation of his fundamental right. Rauf added that discriminatory attitude is being meted out to his client by the Establishment Division (ED).
He prayed the court to direct Secretary ED to assign the petitioner appropriate duty corresponding to his service grade.
