The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday took notice of sexual assault and acid throwing on a 65-year-old woman by a quack in Wan Bachchran.

The Mianwali district and sessions judge has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding the steps taken by the local police, along with his comments.

According to details, on account of pain in her legs, the victim was taken to a quack called Abdus Sattar who ran a pain relief clinic near the lorry adda.

He took her inside a room where he tied both her hands and sexually harassed her. When the victim tried to flee, he threw acid on her back and fled. The victim’s husband and son broke into the room upon hearing her screams, where they found her injured.

The victim was taken to the hospital where doctors declared that 50 percent of her back had been damaged. The family alleged that they had approached the police station several times but the police did not register their complaint.

According to a news report, the police registered a complaint against the quack only after the woman’s family protested in front of the police station.
