Tight security ordered during Ramadan

Rawalpindi Commissioner Khalid Masood Chaudhary has ordered the authorities concerned to ensure foolproof security arrangements at mosques and public places during the holy month of Ramadan.

The commissioner gave these orders while presiding over a meeting held to review security arrangements. He directed inspection of CCTV cameras installed at various public places to ensure if they were working properly.

Rawalpindi RPO Naseem uz Zaman, DCOs of Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum, SSP Special Branch, SP Headquarters, DPO Attock and representatives of intelligence agencies were also present on the occasion.

Masood instructed officials to remove encroachments from Ramadan bazaars. He said, “I will personally visit Ramadan bazaars to review the arrangements.” He said that the administration should make all-out efforts for the security of the citizens and the provision of special benefits announced by the government. He directed IESCO staff to fix all technical faults of electricity supply lines to remote villages so that the citizens do not face any inconvenience. The commissioner also ordered the representative officers of intelligence agencies and police to review their security plans keeping in view recent terrorist acts in the province.

RPO Naseem uz Zaman and other officials briefed the commissioner on the security plans for the holy month and assured the commissioner of all possible measures to be taken for security of mosques and public places.
