A 40-member delegation comprising students from various universities of Bangladesh visited International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and met with IIUI Acting President Prof Dr Mumtaz Ahmad on Friday.
The visit was arranged by the Higher Education Commission. The students of University of Dhaka, Rajshahi University, University of Chittagong, Jahangirnagar University arrived on study tour.
The delegation was led by Rajshahi University Deputy Registrar Dr Aslam Hussain. Dr Mumtaz Ahmad warmly welcomed the delegation.
Addressing the students, Dr Mumtaz shared personal experience of his visit of Bangladesh. He said that Pakistan and Bangladesh had deep rooted long historical, cultural, social and religious ties.
“Bangladeshis live in our heart and we are proud of their development and progress in all fields of the life,” he said.
Mumtaz offered the students of Bangladesh, that if anyone wants to take admission in IIUI, he or she would be highly encouraged, preferred and facilitated. He also promised that they would be specially obliged in IIUI by all the means.
Dr Aslam Hussain, also thanked IIUI on its very warm welcome. He said that the reception received in IIUI was very much gracious and memorable. Students of Bangladesh expressed immense pleasure after visiting the university.
Earlier, the delegation was received at New Campus of the IIUI by varsity’s Additional Director Protocol Hairan Khattak while Academics Additional Director Syed Hassan Aftab briefed the delegation in detail about the history, objectives, academic programs and future plans of the university.
The delegation also visited New Campus and central library of the university. The delegation also paid visit to the Faisal Mosque.
