Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan on Wednesday urged secret agencies to realise their responsibilities in honouring their commitment regarding missing persons.
Khan said this while hearing missing persons case. The bench was informed that 11 people facing minor charges of terrorism and criminal acts have been released whereas one person was handed over to law enforcers in Landi Kotal.
The court was also informed about the recovery of the body of Gul Muhammad from Daudzai last week. Muhammad and Ali Hassan went missing on May 21, 2012. The body has already been handed over to the family.
The CJ ordered the capital city police chief and the Khazana police SHO to appear along with complete record on next hearing day. He warned that stern action would be taken against SHO concerned if body of any missing person was recovered from his precinct. He urged the Police Officers to ensure complete record in this respect.
The court has so far settled cases of as many as 135 people whereas more than 1,800 have been shifted to internment centers in Peshawar, Kohat and Lakki Marwat.
