Electricity shortfall on Wednesday exceeded 4,450MW and the duration of load shedding rising to 18 hours a day in most areas.
According to latest statistics, the total power supply was 12,150MW against a demand of 16,600MW on Wednesday, resulting into a shortfall of 4,450MW.
The rural areas have been facing more than 16 hours of load shedding while in urban areas it is being carried out for 12 hours.
