The government has decided act against private educational institutions found violating official orders to commence summer vacations from June 1.

The Capital Administration and Development (CAD) Ministry had announced summer vacations for educational institutions from June 1 but many private educational institutions ignored these orders and had continued with classes.

Parents complained that private school owners were keeping their institutions open for fees collection, despite the scorching heat because of which it has become impossible for students to attend classes. Daily, reports reached the CAD Ministry about students falling sick and being shifted to hospitals due to heat-caused illnesses.

The parents felt that the private schools would not close till their hefty earnings target was not met.

Sources said the CAD Ministry had evolved lists of such private educational institutions and it had directed the Private Educational Institution Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) to initiate proceedings against them.

The ministry said that schools found breaching the government’s orders for observing summer vacations from June 1 would be sealed and their registration cancelled.
