Bigwigs vacate additional seats

Several newly elected members of the National Assembly who won more than one seat in the general elections on Saturday withdrew from additional seats.

According to details, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan vacated his NA-71 Mianwali and NA-1 Peshawar seat and decided to keep the NA-56 Rawalpindi seat.

Similarly, Javed Hashmi took oath for NA-149 and vacated his seat from NA-48 Islamabad.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif took oath for the NA-120 Lahore seat, vacating his seat of NA-68 Sargodha.

Another PML-N leader Khawaja Asif decided to keep his NA-110 seat and withdrew from PP-123.

Sadruddin Rashidi, a Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) leader, withdrew from NA-235 and decided to keep NA-215.

Furthermore, Shahbaz Sharif surrendered his NA-139 seat and two provincial seats. Similarly, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Amir Haider Hoti vacated his provincial seat PK-23 and Pir Sadruddin Shah has quit NA-216. KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak also quit his national assembly seat from Peshawar.
