Two more people including a girl died after consuming poisonous food at Bait Daryai area of Mir Hazar Khan, Jatoi on Tuesday night after which the toll from the incident increased to eight.
Two persons are still in a critical condition after eating the same food.
Earlier on Tuesday, five children died after consuming poisonous food at Bait Daryai area of Mir Hazar Khan, Tehsil Jatoi.
The condition of 10 members of a family deteriorated after consuming poisonous food. They were rushed to DHQ Hospital where doctors referred them to Nishtar Hospital, Multan due to the severity of their condition.
Two children died at Nishtar Hospital, while three died at Children Hospital during treatment. The deceased included five-year-old Faraz, seven-year-old Siraj, 11-year-old Shahbaz, 12-year-old Sajid and 15-year-old Samia.
