Schedule for maiden NA session finalised

National Assembly (NA) Secretariat finalised the schedule for the first session of the House after general elections on Saturday, 1st June, 2013 at 10 am.
The first day’s agenda will be oath taking by the newly elected members and signing of rolls.
The previous NA Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza will administer oath to members. After signing of rolls, the legislature will be adjourned for 3rd June when election of speaker and deputy speaker will take place.
Nomination papers of candidates for speaker and deputy speaker will be received by the NA secretary till noon on Sunday, while election for these positions will be held through a secret ballot on Monday, 3rd June, 2013.
According to the programme, nomination papers for the prime minister’s election will be received on Tuesday, 4th June till 2.00 pm by the NA secretary and election will be held through division as provided in Article 226 on Wednesday, 5th June, 2013.
