Stop attacks or shoot down drones, Imran asks Nawaz

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday asked prime minister-designate Nawaz Sharif to either ask the United States to stop the drone attacks and in case Washington did not heed the warning, he should order shooting down the drones violating Pakistan’s territory.

“Drone attacks will not be tolerated inside Pakistan,” the PTI chief said in statement.

He said the people had voted those parties to power which promoted anti-drone policies. “The people have rejected the policies adopted and pursued by former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf,” he added.

  21. I think it is new trick of IK to ever criticize NS and PMLN of not acting against drones. IK himself knows that drones are here to stay. My advice to Ik is stop this shibboleths and find some practical means to end Drones. Why IK does not ask the TTP and Haqqani group to stop providing shelters to Afghan Taliban. That is number one reason of these drones.

It would have been a good advice if we lived in a country with strong economic base……………………our treasury is empty, electricity production is far below the requirement, all institutions are plagued with corruption…………in such conditions being termed as a country with aides terrorists and coming under sanctions and losing aid doesn't really appeal to me…………….while I wish the US troops would stop bothering Pakistan like every other Pakistani I think we first need strong legs to stand up to someone otherwise the probability of getting knocked out is very high

  39. This is another U-Turn of Imran Khan, who has been claiming to shoot the drones down after coming to power. Now his nominee is Chief Minister in KPK with all law enforcement agencies including Police & FC under his command… And he passes the buck to Mian Nawaz Sharif.
    Either Imran is himself a fool or he is trying to fool the nation.

    smuggling
    refugees
    stop nato trucks if he cant shoot down drones
    lead a 100 delegations to the west to stop drone attacks
    the TB have welcomed pti by celebrating bomb attacks at the gates of swat
    ask the TB to stop bombing people and places murdering prisioners school girls
    invite TB to play cricket build hospitals schools lay down their suicide vests ieds
    promte tourism peace love harmony
    etc etc etc
    in the first place he should have been CM khyber like caesar no 1 in the village
    than no 2 in rome but he just cant get over what he imagined shoukd have happened
    so stop moaning groaning carping complaining and get well & on with it
    be more concerned about what you can do than what NS should do
    the view from the top is quite different than the promises made on the ground

  57. He only has Provincial powers; the shooting down of drones is the domain of the federal government which is orchestrated by the PM.
