Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has hired a consultant firm for the feasibility study of Lai Expressway.
The consultant firm, Sim Pak International, will complete the study in six months and present it to the RDA. The authority has allocated Rs 14.6 million for the study.
According to the sources, former Punjab chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif had directed to restart the project and constituted a committee led by the P&D chairman to conduct a fresh feasibility study of the project. Earlier, the project was started in the era of former president Pervez Musharraf without a feasibility study.
The consultant firm will review the work done on the project and write a feasible report. Total eight types of models will be formed in the new report and at the end Punjab government will decided what model to proceed with.
