At least five people were killed and several were affected due to gastroenteritis in Multan, a private news channel reported on Friday.
The deaths were reported from Majanwara village.
Per details, people affected by the disease reported complaints of diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach ache due to consumption of contaminated water and unhygienic food in the prevalent hot weather. Hospital sources said at least five people expired and more than 20 were under observation in special ward. They said hundreds of such cases were being reported in local hospitals.
Meanwhile, 15 people, including three women and nine minors, fell unconscious due to scorching heat.
Over 600 people, including women and children, suffering from stomach diseases and sunstroke were treated at DHQHospital the other day.
