The Rawalpindi Police on Sunday arrested 21lawbreakers including 14 gamblers and seized 585 grams charas, three bottles of liquor, one 30-bore pistol and one revolver from their possession.
According to a police spokesman, the Pirwadhai police recovered 285 grams charas and took Mubashir into custody, while the Waris Khan police arrested Nasir for having 300 grams charas. Further, the Gunjmandi police arrested Jamil and seized one 30-bore pistol from him, and the Gujar Khan police acted against and arrested Tahir for having one revolver.
Meanwhile, acting on a tip off, the Pirwadhai police conducted two raids in Fauji colony and caught 14 gamblers, recovering Rs 16, 770 stake money in cash, 11 mobile phones and other items.
In the first raid, seven gamblers namely Nasir, Umar, Faisal, Farhan, Amir Abdullah, Samiullah, and Furkan were arrested with Rs 9220 stake money in cash and five mobile phones. In another raid, seven other identified as Adil, Imran, Mushtaq, Zeeshan, Kashif, Yousaf and Safeer who were allegedly involved in gambling were held for interrogation. The police recovered Rs 7550 stake money in cash and six mobile phones from them.
