Ch Nisar first NA member to be elected 8 times

Central Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former National Assembly Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday became the first national parliamentarian to be elected for the 8th time in a row.

Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid (PML-Q)’s Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema came close to the record, becoming a National Assembly member for seven times in a row. However, Cheema was defeated by the PML-N candidate in the 2013 elections.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan contested the 2013 elections from two constituencies. He lost from one constituency but won in the other, establishing a unique record, an added feather in his political cap.
