Members of Westlife, Shane MacGowan, Paul Brady, Gavin Friday and Bressie are among the performers set to sing Aslan songs at a special one-off show for Christy Dignam this June. A Night For Christy will take place in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on June 21 and will feature Irish acts singing Aslan songs they have handpicked from the Finglas band’s back catalogue in honour of the 52-year-old singer who was released from Beaumont Hospital earlier this week after 10 weeks of treatment for two forms of blood cancer. Danny O’Reilly of The Coronas, Ryan Sheridan, Mary Black, Don Mescall (who penned Aslan’s recent charity single Catch Your Fall), Tom Dunne of Something Happens, Jerry Fish, and Steve Wall of The Stunning are also among the acts playing on the night.
