The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing into a petition filed by General (r) Pervez Musharraf challenging orders of the returning officer and election tribunal that declared him ineligible to contest elections from Kasur’s constituency NA-139 until May 6.
A full bench, headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsan, was hearing the matter.
As the proceedings began, Musharraf’s counsel said the petitioner was not convicted in any case, therefore, he was qualified to contest elections.
The counsel requested the bench to decide the matter keeping in view precedents set in other such cases.
The bench observed that every citizen had a right to contest elections but it was subject to conditions set in the constitution.
The bench later adjourned the matter until May 6.
Musharaf is one of the nice person, in his times environment is good.
