The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has rejected a proposal of permission of Basant celebrations. In a statement issued on Sunday, PPP Lahore Information Secretary Abid Hussain Siddiqui urged the caretaker government that it should not allow Basant as it had become a dangerous and killer activity which took several lives in the past. He said the PPP was not against sports activities but it could not support an activity which could cause deaths.
