Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) submitted three names to Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) for the parliamentary committee to decide a name for Punjab caretaker chief minister on Friday. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif however, said the names suggested by the opposition are not acceptable.
The PPP had given names of Major (r) Zulfiqar Gondal, Shaukat Mehmood Basra and Chaudhry Zaheer for the committee.
Meanwhile, PML-N’s Balochistan leader Lashkari Raisani met Shahbaz Sharif to discuss the Balochistan situation and other issues related to general elections in the country on Friday.
Sharif said the country had regressed in the past five years and the electricity crisis is proof of the government’s inability.
The Punjab CM said the people of Pakistan will hold thieves and looters accountable on May 11.
The PML-N has not as yet submitted names for the parliamentary committee.
The two parties hope to reach a decision on the caretaker CM within the next three days.
