National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has directed the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to re-initiate tendering process for import of LNG. During a presentation here at NAB Headquarters on Monday, NAB authorities asked the gas company that the process should be initiated without any further delay in a transparent manner as per PPRA rules. The company was directed to keep NAB and PPRA informed about the LNG import. On the occasion NAB observed that the technical and financial criteria and procurement process as explained by the Managing Director (MD) SSGC was ambiguous which did not display the clarity of evaluation of the bids and rely on discretion. It was also observed that the pre-qualification method preferably required for the complex projects under the PPRA rules was not adopted.
