Islamabad police stations provided more logistic support to combat crimes

Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan on Tuesday said that police stations in Islamabad had been provided logistics as well as personnel support to combat crimes and to maintain law and order more effectively.

While chairing a meeting held to review the crime situation in the Islamabad, the IGP said that more personnel strength had been provided to police stations to overcome shortage of staff while vehicles had also been provided to ensure effective policing.

This step, he said, would be helpful to ease the work burden on police officials and would improve their performance, besides limiting the duty timings to 8-hours.

He directed all police officials to take further effective steps to control crimes in the city and to adopt a professional, as well as responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

The IGP ordered for strict patrolling and vigilance to ensure effective policing and special crackdown against the gambling dens and guest houses where immoral activities were taking place.

He ordered the arrest of proclaimed offenders and other criminals involved in crimes of heinous nature. He directed police officials for strict monitoring of those who had faced imprisonment in car lifting or involvement in other criminal activities.

He categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.

He said corrupt elements were bringing a bad name to the department and would not be spared and urged all police officials to serve humanity.

Bani Amin Khan said that Islamabad Police was determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone would be left unturned to accomplish this responsibility.

He stressed for speedy disposal of cases and their investigation purely on merit.

“Police is a service oriented job and every police official must serve humanity with devotion,” he added.

The IGP said FIRs must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens.

He also directed acceleration in the investigation process of various crime cases, including murder, robberies, kidnappings for ransom and car lifting.

He asked all the investigation officers of police stations to ensure completion of probe of various cases and submit their fines into court at the earliest as per judicial guidelines.

Islamabad police chief said officers with good performance would be encouraged, while those whose performance is not up to the mark would be punished.

The IGP directed police officials to improve the information and coordination system among various police wings as well as police stations to effectively combat criminal elements.

He asked the officials to be polite with their staff and brief those deputed at police pickets to keep alert to avoid any untoward incident.

He also asked police officers to take welfare steps for policemen of low cadre, especially those performing duties at police pickets during night.

AIG Special Branch Waqar Chohan , Islamabad SSP Yaseen Farooq, SSP (HQ) Muhammad Yousaf Malik, SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood, Station House Officers, all SPs and all sub-divisional police officers among others.
