Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has given three names for the slot of Punjab caretaker chief minister (CM), media reported on Monday.
In a letter to Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz nominated Mian Amir Mehmood, Asma Jahangir and Hafeez Akhtar Randhawa for the position.
Talks are underway between the PPP and the PML-N to select a caretaker prime minister (PM), with only 36 hours remaining to take a decision otherwise the task will be transferred to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Raja Riaz told media personnel that PPP’s nominees had been selected on the basis of their impartiality and honesty. He said the proposed names have been sent in a letter to the CM.
Riaz further said that by proposing these names, the PPP had shown once again that it was a supporter of democracy.

  1. Is this not sort of punishment for some unforgivable sins that people like Raja Riaz are to 'appoint' our chief ministers. This truly is the "revenge of democracy".
