The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to complete its investigation and take action against its ten officials, who helped Shahrukh Jatoi escape from the country and disposed off the case.

The three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad

Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, resumed hearing of the case in which Shahrukh Jatoi, murderer of Shahzeb, fled from the country with the help of FIA officials.

During the course of the proceedings, FIA’s counsel presented a report before the court apprising it about the action taken by the agency.

He informed the court that action was being taken against those responsible for aiding Shahrukh Jatoi in leaving the country without a boarding pass.

He further stated that ten persons were arrested and challans were presented in the court against them.

The chief justice remarked that it was gross negligence on the part of FIA officials for not checking a person who fled from the country without a boarding pass.

“How could a person escape from such a busy airport of the country in the presence of CCTV cameras,” he asked.

The bench directed the FIA officials to complete the investigations and take action against the ten nominated officials as per law and disposed off the case.
