Students appearing for the Matric Part-1 examination (9th class) protested on Saturday over serious irregularities in roll number slips, including incorrect photographs.
Although all preparations with regard to 9th class examinations, which would commence from March 18 under the Rawalpindi Intermediate and Secondary Education Board, had been completed, serious lapses were found in the roll number slips issued by the education board
Where some had incorrect photographs, others had mistaken genders. Likewise, date sheets of science students were sent to arts students. Several roll number slips also have incorrect names of the fathers of several candidates. Another problem which students faced was the setting up of examination centres, especially of girls, too far away from their homes.
Meanwhile, candidates demanded immediate action by the board authority to ensure corrections in the roll number slips.
