CDA hasn’t stopped working against dengue

Capital Development Authority (CDA) is taking all preventive measures against the growth and spread of dengue virus in the federal capital.

In this regard, special teams of CDA’s Health Services Directorate have geared up drive in different areas of the city against the virus.

A CDA official said that completing the eradication of dengue virus was CDA’s priority, adding that special teams of Health Services Directorate in collaboration with the other concerned formations of the authority have step up campaigns against the dengue virus and playing their active role for elimination of this deadly virus from the city.

He said that CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the concerned formations of the authority for removal of shrubs, wild bushes and trimming of grass as well as proper disposal of garbage and solid waste which are the potential breeding places of dengue larva.

The chairman directed the Sanitation Directorate to wipe out stagnant water from the roads and streets and issue notices to the violators of municipal bylaws in addition of challan notices. He also directed the Enforcement Directorate to take action against the tyre shops owners.

He directed for dissemination of informative literature and asked the concerned formations of the Authority to distribute the pamphlets among the public inscribed with preventive measures against the dengue virus. He urged the concerned formations of the authority to ensure drainage of rain water during the monsoon rain spells.
