Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday telephoned National Harmony Advisor Dr Paul Bhatti and Minister of State National Harmony Akram Masih Gill and ordered them to contact the Christian victims of the Badami Bagh incident.
He categorically ordered them to remain in touch with the affected families.
Furthermore, the prime minister said the federal government was ready to extend assistance to the families in their hour of need.
The prime minister assured the victims that the government would take all steps in safeguarding lives and properties of non-Muslim Pakistanis.
Moreover, he said that they had equal rights as other citizens.
He further said that neither ethics nor Islam allowed violence against followers of other religions.
The prime minister reiterated that Islam preached tolerance and peace for all.
