Owing to law and order condition in Balochistan, the Cambridge University-linked staff of the British Council on Friday refused to visit Quetta for O-Level exam, leaving future of several hundred students at stake. According to media reports, over 300 students from several private schools in Quetta submitted examination fee, but the staff concerned has flatly refused to conduct exam in Quetta. The BC has shifted Quetta examination centre to Karachi and asked the candidates to come there for giving papers or refund their fee. The students and parents are deeply troubled by this new situation and unable to decide for either of the choice, as it is not easy for them to go with children to Karachi or refund fee. Balochistan local administration has assured the staff of complete security but they are not ready to visit Quetta.

  1. Excellent choice made by the staff of BC. Lives are more important than Exams! The BC can extend the date for October/November session 2013. If the parents can take their children to Karachi for holidays to enjoy, and having good times, so I am wondering are the parents not loyal to their children or to BC? If I have to take my son to England I will not hesitate.

    • not excellent. exams should be held here. the law and order situation in sindh is far worse. this is just an excuse. sure ignore blaochistan, they dont deserve education and they dont deserve the facilities that other nations receive. if it was so deadly to live in quetta then how do the tens and thousands of the citizens of the city live there – See more at: http://www.pakistantoday.mbt.pk/2013/03/09/news/n

  3. Why dont you take this to notice of Government ? Due to current situation of Pakistan no one feel safe , when there is an issue of road safety also.. Anyway, Have you ever think of these simple things I mean your rights to live and move freely. Pakistan was growing in the field of I.T and went to advance level then we faced electricity down fall. Secondly, when you wish to go at least to live by your choice, killings, bomb blasts else started. One must understand that if we gain knowledge and become educated, we can choose our leaders wisely. However, our leaders do not wish us to study or to move with high tech. As we got corrupt politician the foreign aid agencies also do not believe in them due to security issues. Finally, I think center changed decision of British Council is solely for student convenience as students has to come to play a part in Examinations.
