The government of Punjab, on Friday, reinstated the 71 young doctors who were earlier relieved from their services on the charges of continued absence and other irregularities.
According to the notification, the restored doctors were associated with Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital, Mayo Hospital, Children Hospital and Nishter Hospital of Multan.
The doctors were sacked for provoking their colleagues and holding strike in public hospitals following the Gujranwala incident.
After the successful talks with chief minister, the doctors ended their hunger strike while the government restored the protesting doctors.
Following successful negotiations between the government and the young doctors, the government reinstated the 71 sacked doctors.
Punjab Health Department spokesman said that the show cause notices and transfer orders issued along with the dismissal and suspension of doctors had also been withdrawn.
It is important to mention that the enquiry launched against the doctors involved in Gujranwala torture case has not been withdrawn yet.
