US diplomat runs over two in traffic collision

A man died while another sustained severe injuries in a collision with a US embassy vehicle on Friday morning.

According to media reports, US diplomat Lupersio Perez was driving the car at a high speed when it hit a motorcycle in the Secretariat Police Station area of Islamabad. As a result, the motorcyclists were injured badly.

Eyewitnesses added, at the time of the accident two men, one at the handle bar and the other on the pillion, were riding the motorcycle.

According to sources, the bikers identified as Shozab Raza and Muzammil Shah, were employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), were going home after a long day at the Parliament Lodges where they worked, when the accident took place.

Muzammil Shah breathed his last in the emergency room of Poly Clinic, however Shozab Raza is said to be out of danger. It is pertinent to mention that following the roadside mishap the US diplomat was also hospitalized for reportedly feeling too sick to stay in the stationhouse.

According to media reports the car involved in the accident has been impounded.

A case was registered against the US diplomat under section 302, however, he was released on bail.

Muzzamil Shah, who was an employee of CDA for the last six years, is survived by a window and a seven-year-old daughter.

  1. Georgian diplomát was jailed due to similar incident in Washinton few years back. Vía American judicial system…why this American diplomát not face similar fate ? They are not immune to criminall act…..Raymond Davis was let-off but not this time…..
