I live near The Punjab School in Township. My area is facing the problem of sewage system for quite some time now. The industrial waste gathers at this area through huge drainage pipes near Sadiq Chowk. The chemicals in the water cause foul smell and create odorous gases, and potentially dangerous poisonous gases too. These gases also react badly with the electrical and electronic equipment used in our homes and cause rust in a short period of time. It is not only destroying our home appliances but also badly affecting our health. Politicians of the area have promised many a time to take serious notice of that problem but have done nothing, as usual.
Authorities have to take immediate notice of this serious issue. Although the Punjab government claims to make Lahore clean, it is not paying heed to this important issue. It has to put restriction on the industrialists to put waste in the sewage, at least not before passing it through a proper filtration method.
