Punjab government on Friday dismissed 90 doctors who were absent from their regular duties for last one year.

The provincial health department said that 90 doctors had been dismissed, adding that the departmental action against 350 other doctors was also being taken.

The department further said that the doctors were continuously directed to join their duties for last one year.

A majority of doctors are activists of the Young Doctors Association, Punjab. The hospitals’ administrations have recommended action against the young doctors for disrupting health services in the name of ‘strike’.

  1. Dismissal is not enough at all. Their degrees must be withdrawn for good, to lforce them work as street vendors – and to feel the pain they have inflicted to common man on street.

  2. If there demands are genuine, then why their demands should not be accepted. Leaders corrupting in millions, why not to give genuine demands???? This government is corrupt.
