Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakruddin G Ebrahim on Thursday rejected all allegations against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) saying demands for reconstitution of the ECP were unconstitutional.

The ECP chief said that some political parties that want to gain political mileage ahead of the general elections are hurling baseless allegations against the ECP.

“We don’t have any political affiliations,” Ebrahim said, adding reputation of ECP is being damaged for political purposes.

“Appointment of every ECP member including myself is according to the constitution,” he asserted.

Ebrahim’s statement came hours after Tahirul Qadri, chief patron of the Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran, filed a petition in the Supreme Court today seeking reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Wow! FGI is a liar!! He tries to hide his lie under the cloak of the constitution ("Appointment of every ECP member including myself is according to the constitution") but both are mutually exclusive.

  2. This old man always wanted to be in lime light with the help of Nawaz ganja. Old judge is highly incapable to deal the exterme corrupt practices of politicans who act like mafia. His position on removing faked voters from karachi is clear. He dont have the guts to take honest decision in presence of terrorist. Old baba should realize that he is not a capable of clearning this mess.
