SC to resume RPP case hearing

A Supreme Court (SC) bench headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will resume hearing in Rental Power Projects (RPP) scam on Wednesday.
According to a report prepared by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigating officer Asghar Khan, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf was held responsible for the Rs22 billion corruption in rental power plants. The charges on PM included failing to prevent corruption, pressurizing Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) for wrong decisions and trying deliberately to benefit contractors through agreements.
The apex court issued an order to arrest Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and 15 others accused in the case on January 15.
