Violations of LoC ceasefire

The continued episodes of violation by the Indian armed forces of the LoC ceasefire just goes to show that the songs of peace that were so sweetly sung by the Indians for the past couple of months was just another face saver. The deep rooted hatred that India harbours is not for the sake of perpetuating historical grievances, but a means of furthering its own nefarious agenda of freezing its neighbours out so that its own hegemony in the region is maintained. This way nobody in the international community can accuse them of not trying enough to make peace within the region. The process of release of prisoners on both sides of the border, beginning of trade and promotion of art and cultural activity had surely brought some thaw in relations and had looked quite amazingly genuine too.
The current declarations, however, made by the Indian authorities that there could be no “business as usual” with Pakistan indicate what can be expected in coming days. This is surely nothing new as our entire past is peppered with stories of a similar nature with slight difference in events but with comparable responses.
The unprovoked firing from the Indian side, a blatant breach of mutual regard for the ceasefire has led to the killing of two Pakistani soldiers and injuring many. The Pakistani authorities and armed forces have registered a serious protest against the Indian army for this violation and have lodged a complaint with UN over it too.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has shown great generosity in dealing with the matter by announcing that, “The doors to dialogue are open, we need to become mature countries which know how to handle their truth.” In response to Manmohan Singh’s statements, Khar expressed great disappointment while commenting that the Pakistani government believed that the dialogue process should be uninterrupted and uninterruptable.
The message that the former President General Musharraf gave was, however, more forceful and hard-hitting. While asserting that everyone in India is inclined towards hysteria, he highlighted the need for India to stop painting Pakistanis as rogues working in collusion with the terrorists, and asked for logic behind why the Indians were kicking our singers out and sending back our hockey players. Surely, the deliberate poisoning of captain of the Pakistani blind cricket team is enough to exhibit their bias against us.
