In a sad incident on Tuesday, two children burned to death and their parents were injured when fire broke out in a room of their house due to gas leakage.
Officials said the incident took place in Jalozai Camp of Afghan refugees at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nowshera town.
Police said Akhtar Munir’s wife tried to light a gas heater without realising that the room was full of gas owing to leakage and it caused a fire to erupt early on Tuesday.
The flames engulfed the entire room within minutes as Munir’s two children, four-year-old Shoaib and 8-year-old Talha, were burned to death.
Munir and his wife also suffered burns while rescuing their minor kids. They were later shifted to Peshawar’s Lady Reading hospital in critical state.
