The entire country has been gripped in the cobweb of conspiracies and virtually stage dramas. People’s trust and faith on individuals and on institutions of the country have gone down to below zero level. Even religious scholars now are in this category. How does one expect that what these religious scholars, who used to be once referred to as religious authority, are preaching is also a truth or a farce? State politicians, business people and civil administrators were commonly known for false statements for personal and timely gains. But religious scholars and teachers were never doubted. They were always respected and looked at by the people as a last resort in resolving their social and family problems.
One dictator used Islam as a tool to justify and extend his rule, but he destroyed the faith of a common man in the wake. Now the entire nation has witnessed another drama played by Dr TuQ. He goes on to use Karbala, Yazeed, and Hazrat Imam Hussein (RA), the martyrdom of the grandson of our Holy Prophet (SAW) for his vicious motives and deceitful role. He surely did a good job by his oratory supremacy but he has destroyed and crippled the minds of innocent millions (the real millions and not his millions) by turning sides and somersaulting. His cynical smile could even be seen through cameras and foggy glass of his castle-type container.
We will have democracy and Pakistani-styled democracy at that, we will not have military rule, we may or may not have good or bad governance, we may or may not have poverty alleviation, we may or may not come victorious in our great war against terror, but if we look at the price of getting all this or our attempt to hope for this; the price is enormous. This is what we call collateral damage. My heartiest congratulations to those who have gained from Dr TuQ and my heartiest felicitation to those who brought him to Pakistan but let me remind them all that they have corroded the very ground on which they are standing or will stand. Billions of dollars they may have made or ensured for themselves on earth in the coming years but they will have leave this world all alone.
