Hundreds of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers accompanied by activists from the Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) attended the funeral prayer of Member Provincial Assemby (MPA) Manzar Imam, offered at Jinnah Ground near MQM headquarters in Azizabad here on Friday.
The funeral prayer was led by Hafiz Saquib Imam, nephew of the slain MPA.
Members of the MQM Rabita Committee, ANP leaders including Amir Nawab, Bashir Jan and Rana Gul Afridi, PPP leaders Waqar Mehdi, Abid Satti, Munir Khattak and Rashid Rabbani, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Nehal Hashmi were among the prominent persons who attended the funeral prayer.
The political workers who exhibited complete discipline, on the occasion resolved to rise above all political differences in order to maintain absolute unity in their ranks against terrorists and criminal elements.
MPA Manzar who was killed on Thursday in Orangi Town area here had left behind a widow, a five-year-old son and parents.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for Sajid, personal bodyguard and driver of Manzar, along with the two deceased cops, Imran and Murad were also offered on the occasion.
The MPA was buried at Shuhada graveyard in Azizabad.
