Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Punjab government spokesman Senator Pervez Rashid on Monday said Dr Tahirul Qadri should work to bring change within the system, and contest general elections. Rashid said Qadri’s long march had failed miserably. He had claimed to mobilise 0.4 million but had only managed to gather 4,000 people from Lahore. He said the long march had lost its essence and Shujaat and Pervez Elahi would now hold farcical negotiations with Dr Qadri to save his honour, after which Qadri would announce that he had been successful. Rashid said that Qadri should contest elections and enter the parliament with the people’s mandate and bring a change by staying in the system. Talking about the implementation of governor rule in Balochistan, the PML-N leader said his party had not been taken into confidence regarding its imposition. He said the situation in Balochistan was similar to the one in Karachi and immediate action was required.
