Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah has asked Sindh Health Minister Dr Saghir Ahmed to visit the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) besides other government owned healthcare facilities to ensure availability of medicines.
According to a handout issued here on Monday, the Sindh CM had taken serious notice of news reports about problems being faced by patients visiting the CHK and other facilities due to shortage of otherwise readily available medicines.
He also directed the Sindh health secretary to provide him with a detailed report about preventive and curative measures adopted by the provincial health department to counter the outbreak of measles in the province. Syed Qaim had expressed deep concern over the loss of precious lives of children affected by the deadly measles outbreak. He had urged that prompt and fool-proof measures should be adopted to prevent further spread of measles, besides bringing under control the situation in the areas where the epidemic had already broke out.
