All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Secretary-General Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif on Thursday welcomed Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s offer to join his party and said he would take any decision after taking his comrades. The offer was made during a meeting between the two leaders at the TMQ headquarters in Lahore. A close aide of Qadri told Pakistan Today that the APML secretary-general assured Dr Qadri that thousands of workers of APML and Pasdar-e-Pakistan would participate in the long march scheduled for January 14. Saif’s act may get General (r) Pervez Musharraf angry as the latter had already opposed the long march. A source said that Barrister Saif was cautious as nothing concrete was offered by Dr Qadri. “Another meeting is expected soon after the long march and things would be settled after the long march,” the source added. When contacted, Barrister Saif termed the meeting good, adding that it was decided that thousands of his colleagues would attend the long march. Asked whether any offer was made by Dr Qadri for joining his party, Barrister Saif said no offer was discussed as the meeting only focused on participation in the long march.
