The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) led by Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon has remanded three culprits, arrested in Shahzeb murder case, to police custody for 10 days.
The accused persons including Seraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Mustafa Lashari were arrested by the police on Saturday from interior Sindh, Dadu, Moro and Karachi.
Senior Superintendent of Police Farooq Awan produced the culprits in ATC on Monday under stringent security measures. He requested the court to grant physical remand of the three accused persons for 14 days to police on the plea that these culprits were being further investigated in connection with the arrest of the main culprit of this murder case namely Shahrukh Jatoi.
However the court granted physical remand for 10 days and handed over the culprits to the police. It may be recalled that these accused persons along with other accomplices had shot dead 20-year-old Shahzeb, son of DSP Aurangzeb and close relative of Pakistan Peoples Party Member National Assembly Nabil Gabol, on December 25 in the jurisdiction of the Darakhshan police.
Meanwhile, Seraj who was detained in Shahzeb murder case had shown willingness to become approver in this case against the main culprit Shahrukh.
It had been disclosed that the main culprit Shahrukh had fled abroad by United Arab Emirates Airlines flight number EK-603.
Sources said Imdad Talpur, father of Seraj Talpur, was keeping constant contact with senior police officers and matters had been settled between them. It had been agreed between them that Seraj would become king’s evidence against Shahrukh. Investigation sources said that they had received a tip about the presence of Shahrukh in Dubai, and a police team was going to leave for Dubai for his arrest.
On the other hand, police conducted raids at the house and petrol pump of Sikandar Jatoi in Sukkar to trace out the accused persons and also investigated the employees of the petrol pump regarding the case. Police kept the staff under their custody for some time but no arrests were made.
Sources further said that Shahrukh’s entry into the airport was made possible through terminal-3 without passing the immigration officials.
