The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution against Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri. The resolution read that a call for electoral reforms at this time were a conspiracy to delay upcoming general polls. It called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to continue its preparations for the elections without any fear or threat. The resolution added that some so-called champions of Islam are hatching conspiracies to derail democracy at the behest of ‘outsiders’. The provincial assembly rejects the undemocratic tactics of the non-elected representatives. It also urged political forces to unite against saboteurs of electoral process and democracy.
The resolution was jointly presented by Javed Abbasi, Sikander Sherpao, Qalandar Lodhi, Rahim Dad, Arshad Abdullah and Abdul Sattar.
