The Ministry of Interior has accorded permission to the Islamabad Police to recruit new officials to overcome the shortage of personnel. According to police sources, the department had earlier sought permission for new recruitment, from the ministry, to fill the vacancies of assistant sub-inspector (ASI), constables, and driver constables. The ministry has granted permission and the recruitment process will commence soon. Female candidates would be eligible to apply per government rules, while regional, provincial, minorities and female quotas would also be preserved. Inductions would be made on merit for which physical and written tests as well as interviews would be conducted.
