Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon on Sunday said that he was ready to take charge as the caretaker prime minister.
Talking to APP he said that he would accept the responsibility if and when offered. He said that he could not predict how January 14 would unfold, adding that the million march of Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran (TMJ) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to Islamabad was a tinderbox. He said that the government would announce elections soon, adding that the care taker set up would be ushered in soon.
Commenting on the UN probe into Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, he said that the UN had forwarded its recommendations to the government of Pakistan and now it was the responsibility of the government to pursue the details.
