Amid worst crisis faced by the Punjab industries, the gas supply to the CNG sector across the province has also been closed following the breakdown in Malamzai Gas Field. Media reports quoting sources in the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) read the problem in the gas field has caused 75 million cubic feet gas to run out of the system. The CNG stations in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi regions were scheduled to open from Wednesday; however, the SNGPL announced to close down the gas supply to the CNG stations in these regions owing to the shortage. The CNG stations will not be opened in other regions of the province as well. According to the SNGPL, the supply to the industries and the CNG stations has been stopped to provide gas to domestic consumers.
